Stone Masonry
Stone Masonry
Stone masonry can be a very large component of a landscape project. From retaining walls, columns, freestanding walls, decorative accents, patios, copings and walkways, almost every project we work on includes stonework of some type. The range of products available for use is also impressive. From natural limestone pavers, to imported products and Canadian made precast products, there are many choices that will enhance any style of landscape design and construction. With new technology, pavers and other masonry products have evolved to allow better and longer lasting choices for our Canadian climate.
Some stonework can be done as ‘dry laid’ on a gravel base, while other components require ‘wet laid’ stone on a base of concrete. Dry laid stone is great in many circumstances such as near tree roots or with concrete pavers. Wet laid stone is often used on porch veneering when natural stone is applied to the concrete foundation. We can also continue to work on some stone projects during the winter months. Having the labour intensive stonework done at this time allows us to finish a project much quicker when the spring season starts, allowing homeowners to make use of their new landscape much sooner and Live Outside!
